CatchWire is an online wine community - a social network for wine lovers. Yes, there are quite a few other wine social networks out there. What sets CatchWire apart is our connection to the wine industry and our collection of serious wine drinkers (from beginners to experienced).

We're located in Yountville - in the heart of the Napa Valley and at the culinary and oenologic epicenter of California. CatchWire was created by family members of a small, third-generation winery.

CatchWire works just like Facebook™, but we're focused solely on wine. (By the way, if you're a Facebook™ member, you can log-in directly to CatchWire using your existing username and password - look for the "Connect with Facebook" button on our home page.)

CatchWire users can:

• connect with others users and friends,
• create and customize their profiles (including a wine connoisseur profile that hightlights your wine experience and preferences),
• join or create custom groups (i.e., "Fans of Cabernet sauvignon"),
• send private messages to other CatchWire members,
• join forums and discussions on wine-related issues, and
• participate in online, member-only tastings.

Connect with high-end, yet to be discovered wineries in the CatchWire Connoisseur Club (CCC) - we connect you with hard-to-find boutique wineries, based on your preferences. All you have to do is fill out a connoiseur profile and opt-in to the CCC - and we'll begin matching your individual preferences to our growing database of winery members.

In this capacity, CatchWire acts as your wine "agent" - and we provide your relevant information to wineries that you would be interested in (based on your profile information). For example, if you're a high-end Pinot lover, you'll receive direct correspondence from boutique Pinot noir producers, and your information would never be passed on to a winery who only produces a $6.99 Sauvignon blanc.

Our member's information is never shared with anyone other than our member wineries, and CatchWire users can opt-out at anytime.
